This is a disappointment, Heler has misrepresented their vertical grill calling it an 'airfryer' to capitalise on the popularity of real airfryers. The difference is real airfryers have fan forced hot air circulating for fast even cooking. This vertical grill does not. All it has is two oversized elements running down the sides, relying on natural convection to do the job. The result is food that is dried up on the outside by the time it is cooked in the middle, and it takes twice as long as a real airfryer. There are a number of disapointments with this unit 1) No fan to circulate the hot air. 2) The inside including the drip tray instead of being coated with a non stick coating like real airfryers is just shiny steel. They have the gall to ask customers to pour water in the drip tray to stop damage from dripping oils & fats. Even after doing this on the first use the tray after cleaning was discoloured. 3)The instruction booklet makes no mention of cooking times or temperatures for popular items, such as potato chips, even though they display same on the outside of the box so its trial and error , not a good start . I suspect its because its soo ineffective they are embarrassed by its poor performance. 4) There is no bell or alarm for when the timer finishes. After having a real airfryer( Tefel) for three years and knowing what is possible, I am really disappointed, with a little more attention to detail this unit could have been a gem instead of a lemon, if there was some way I could get my money back I would gladly part with it.
