If you're not grilling with these charcoals - you're not grillin'! I am trying to become a grill master (in my mind, lol), and ran out of a Kingsford briquets one day, couldn't find it, stumbled upon Royal Oak's ...Select Hardwood Briquets - and never went back! It's that good, seriously!! From the subtle charcoal scent, to the clean burn, these are a MUST if you do any quick grilling, or smoking meats. I've cooked everything from quick burgers, veggies, et al, to my favorite smoking meats, low/slow ribs, beef brisket, to from-scratch homemade bacon - these are my go-to charcoal briquets. And the scent you get when you do a low/slow smoke with wood chunks - MAN! Nothing beats that smell. That's not me talking - testimony from my neighbors when that smoke is billowing in the air! Again, they hold up long, burn nice and clean, without that sooty taste you get on your food with some brands. So the short of this review is this - RUN, don't walk to buy these charcoal briquets. I guarantee you won't go back to those other brands. Buy these - and you're at the pit-master level!
We use a lot of charcoal in our bbq catering business. I have found the Royal Oak to be a much better product than Kingsford. It burns longer with less ash. Love the 40# bags.
