Holiday Meals for the Season & Outdoor Grill-Cooking

Of course, Turkey is typically the number one food item thought of during this time of the year. The gas and charcoal grills from Weber and Big Green Egg can give your food that extra flavor the holiday season deserves.

While it can be intimidating, grill-cooking for turkeys and other holiday meats is much easier than you may think. In a relatively short amount of time, you can have your entire holiday meal cooked - hearty and ready to go- for the whole family in just your backyard.

Turn your feast into a backyard cooking party!

With grills, you have the option to roast, grill, and smoke your turkey.

How to Get Started?

  1. Pick out a great turkey
  2. Make sure the turkey fits on your grill
  3. Add seasoning and flavor

Taylor's Tip: Sprinkle John Henry’s seasoning all over the outside of your turkey and inject your turkey with an injectable marinade (Our favorite is Cajun Butter). These spices and marinades add a flavorful kick to your turkey, ranging from sweet mixes to spicy sauces and everything in between.

Weber’s Gas Grill Turkey Preparation

As one of the leaders in gas grills, Weber builds off decades of outdoor cooking experience.

Here are the top steps to get your grill ready for a turkey-cooking!

  1. Set-up the grill for indirect heat, meaning the turkey will not be directly over a lit burner.
  2. Preheat your grill for 10-15 minutes before adding your turkey.
  3. Get out your dual-probe thermometer. A dual-probe thermometer is essential because it has one probe to measures your meat temperature and another to measure your grill cavity. Joe Taylor cooks his turkey at 325 for 15 minutes per pound, until it reaches 165 internal temperature.
