Town of Fort Kent Hero Wall Project
A Hero Wall is being constructed at Riverside Park which will honor a veteran or loved one and will be open 24/7 365 days per year. The Wall will be two-sided, 20 feet long by 7 feet tall. It will hold 280 hero tiles that are 8.5 inches by 11 inches. Funds will be used for construction of the wall.
St. John Vianney Parish Vegetable Voucher Program
The parish’s Social Justice & Peace Commission is responsible for assisting the needy (regardless of religious affiliation) in parish communities including Allagash, St. John, Fort Kent, Wallagrass, Eagle Lake and New Canada. The Vegetable Voucher program offers food pantry recipients vouchers to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from farmers within the parish area.
American Red Cross
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides comfort to victims of disasters; supplies about 40% of the nation’s blood; teaches skills that saves lives; disputes international humanitarian aid; and supports veterans, military members and their families. Funds will remain location to assist those in need.
Connor Park & Recreation Park Revitalization Project
Connor Community Park has been a long-standing staple for area children since the 80’s and is frequented by folks from surrounding towns. In recent years, the playground equipment has become so dilapidated that parts are extremely unsafe, and areas have been caution-taped off from use. Funds will be used to purchase new, safe playground equipment.
Woodland Consolidated School Learning Outside the Box
Learning Outside the Box is a plan to build an open-air classroom/gazebo that will fit in with the natural landscape for students and community members to enjoy. A stage area for students to perform plays, concerts and for teachers to present lessons. Benches for parents to watch their children play, hikers and skiers will have a place to gear up before they hit the Woodland Community Trails.
Halfway Home Pet Rescue Spay/Neuter Clinic
HHPR specializes in every level of animal care, pet ownership, rehabilitation and animal welfare issues. The spay/neuter clinic for cats and kittens are held regularly at the new location on 40 Broadway. The objective is to complete as many spay/neuter clinics as possible. By doing this, it helps to lessen the amount of homeless cats in the County.
Ashland Ambulance Service
Ashland Ambulance serves Ashland, Portage, Masardis, Garfield and Scopan in addition to 13 unorganized townships. Ambulances are staffed with one provider and one driver. Funds will be used to purchase an automatic CPR device which will free up the hands of one person to enable improved life-saving care.
The Well of Mars Hill Maine
The Well of Mars Hill Maine is a café type setting for the community youth. The Well offers free food and drinks to teens in the community and provides a pool table, a ping-pong table, air hockey, video games and multiple board and card games. A new facility has been purchased on Main Street and funds will be used to assist in renovations to the new building.

Bridge to Hope
Bridge to Hope offers assistance to anyone that is battling any type of cancer. Assistance includes gas cards, meals, hotel rooms, groceries, dental appointments or any other need. The Cancer Walk is held in October of each year and is the main fundraiser. Funds would be used to assist those in need.
Aroostook 4-H
Aroostook County 4-H is a positive youth development program that focuses on education through hands-on learning experiences. The program is dedicated to providing local youth with opportunities to explore their interests, develop leadership skills and contribute to their communities. Funding directly benefits local young people by providing them access to a wide range of educational programs, activities, and resources that will help them develop important life skills.
Danforth Market & Common Pavilion
The building was conceived by the Town of Danforth’s Downtown Revitalization Committee. It is part of the Master Plan for the Downtown. It is viewed as the catalyst to start interest in inviting new business to come to Danforth. Danforth in the past had a vibrant downtown and we hope that this will start a new beginning. The commons building will serve as community space for the town to host concerts, family gatherings, farmers market, and ice skating in the winter, as well as other social events.
Ella P. Burr School Food Insecurity
Ella P. Burr School is a public elementary school that serves approximately 318 students from grades pre-k to 3rd. Food insecurity is a challenge for our area. Weekly food bags are offered to over 15% of the students. Funding would be used to purchase nutritious food to assist those in need.
Mattanawcook Junior High School Food Pantry Program
The Food Pantry Program provides students in need with meals for weekends, holidays and vacations. The Pantry serves approximately 30 students weekly with breakfasts, snacks, lunches and dinner every weekend. Funds will be used to purchase nutritious food for students utilizing the program.
Orchard Springs Campground Nicholas Pond Project
Nicholas Pond is being made to honor Nicholas Francis Chandonait who sadly passed away due to heart complications. The goal for Nicholas Pond it to provide a fun and safe environment for children and others with intellectual needs to fish and enjoy outdoor activities easily. Once the pond is finished, volunteer-based instructed activities will be offered such as canoeing, fishing, kayaking, archery, etc.
