Clare Hardware is located downtown, in the heart of Clare, Michigan and is Clare's oldest hardware store!
A family owned and operated store, we pride ourselves in having what you need, when you need it. We have over 9,000 square foot of inventory ranging from plumbing and electrical supplies to tools to help you get the job done no matter how big or small. We carry a large selection of lawn and garden supplies including a full line of Scott's, Ortho, and Miracle-Gro products and our housewares department will supply you with everything from canning supplies to small kitchen appliances and gadgets. Our paint department features Valspar and Best Look paints and Cabot exterior stains and a huge selection of rollers and brushes that will help you create a masterpiece no matter what the paint project. We also boast over 40 foot of Midwest Fasteners and a large National Stanley hardware department.

A Brief History of the Clare Hardware
Clare Hardware was opened in 1905 by Webb, Galligher and Calkins which eventually turned into Galligher & Mercer. In 1936, Stanley Burdo moved to Clare and with previous hardware experience purchased the store which would remain in his family for the next 70 years. Stanley eventually sold the store to his son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Marge Burdo who eventually sold to their daughter and son-in-law, Vince and Elaine Demasi. The Demasi family sold the store to the Sian family in the fall of 2006. Today the store is owned by Dennis and Kathy Sian who also own and operate the Sanford Hardware in nearby Sanford, Michigan. Dennis has over 50 years of hardware industry experience and the Clare store is managed by his son, Denny.
