Yard Associate (Full Time and Part Time)

Job Description:

Pilot Lumber is seeking passionate full-time Yard Associates to join our team at our Alexandria and Bellevue store locations!

Primary Responsibilities of Yard Associate:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to team members, customers, and vendors
  • Build loads for delivery
  • Load and unload lumber and building supplies
  • Assist customers in selecting and loading items they have purchased
  • Operates forklifts and other vehicles
  • Assists in delivery and carry as needed
  • Helps with cycle counts and inventory control
  • Keeps management apprised of any delays or discrepancies
  • Keeps lumber yard clean, well-organized, and safe
  • Other duties assigned

Outside Sales Representative

Job Description:

Pilot Lumber is seeking a passionate full-time Outside Sales Representative to join our team!

The Outside Sales Representative will grow sales to new customers and contractors and manage customers with any building project needs.  The ideal candidate will have previous outside sales experience with a book of business, looking to serve Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati.

Primary Responsibilities of the Outside Sales Representative:

  • Generate new sales to custom home builders and contractors
  • Provide knowledge of construction in residential and commercial framing along with other building materials such as windows, doors, interior and exterior millwork, and trusses
  • Create accurate customer quotes from projects and blueprints, and taking customers from quote to order to delivery
  • Provide excellent customer service to our customers and vendors
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding product selection, placement of orders, requests for prices and quotations, complaints and scheduling of deliveries and installations, and providing customer follow-ups
  • Establish relationships with vendors for special orders

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Knowledge of lumber and other materials.
  • Blueprint reading
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn our system

Hardware Store-Retail Sales Position

Job Description:

Pilot Lumber is seeking a passionate full-time Hardware Store Associate to join our team at our Alexandria and Bellevue store locations!

The Hardware Store Associate will provide exceptional customer service by answering all customer questions and ensuring the store remains clean and organized through stocking and organizing store inventory. The ideal candidate will be customer service oriented, passionate about retail, and work well in a fast-paced environment. Previous hardware store experience is strongly preferred, but not required.

Requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Hardware store or related experience
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to lift and carry heavy objects between 25-125 pounds

CDL Driver/Yard Associate

We are looking for professional drivers who can deliver the highest level of customer service while maintaining an obsessive focus on safety and personal success!

Primary Responsibilities of a Class A or B Driver:

  • Drive any combination of vehicles with GVW of 26,001 or more pounds
  • Transport and deliver goods
  • Perform daily checklists on vehicles before driving them to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order, report vehicle defects or damage to the vehicles
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. Operate hydraulic lift gates safely
  • Secure cargo for transport, using wedges and straps. Ensure safety when inspecting
  • Sorting, stocking, and moving lumber and building materials
  • Fill orders
  • Loading supplies for customers
  • Lifting up to 125 lbs
  • Report for random drug and alcohol when selected in pool
  • Maintaining CDL Class A or B license
  • Pass and report Fed Med
