About RLH Inc.

RLH Inc. was founded in 2005 by six siblings with a shared vision to support and serve the Sicangu Lakota Oyate. What began as a small venture to build log homes quickly grew into a company dedicated to providing essential building materials and equipment to contractors, Tribal programs, and local businesses. Over the years, we’ve expanded to include Rosebud Building Products (a lumberyard and hardware store), RBP Supply (a commercial supplier) and Rosebud Rental (offering equipment rentals), all while keeping the needs of the community at the forefront of our mission.

Our entrepreneurial origin story began after the passing of our mother, a Rosebud Sioux Tribal member and boarding school survivor. Using her life insurance as seed money for business, our first project—a homeless shelter for the Tribe—marked the beginning of our commitment to supporting local initiatives. Since then, we’ve grown steadily, always focused on providing access to building materials, equipment, and supplies that contribute to the development of the Rosebud Reservation as well as surrounding areas.

In 2021, RLH Inc. transitioned into a 100% Lakota woman-owned company, driven by Serena and me, as part of our commitment to continue the work of empowering and building up the community. This milestone allows us to plan for a sustainable future, where we can not only grow as a business but also provide more opportunities to our community.

In addition to our long-standing team, we are committed to nurturing the next generation of professionals. RLH Inc. prioritizes hiring youth workers and providing them with valuable hands-on experience through training and mentorship. Our youth employment and internship programs, in partnership with local schools and community initiatives, offer a stepping stone for young workers, ensuring they gain the skills and confidence needed for future employment opportunities. As our retail hardware store and lumberyard, Rosebud Building Products is the go-to destination for local programs, homeowners, contractors, and building professionals alike. We provide an extensive range of building materials, tools, and garden & home improvement products to support projects of any size. Our knowledgeable team is dedicated to helping customers bring their construction  and home improvement visions to life, providing personalized assistance and ensuring access to the highest-quality materials. Whether it’s a DIY project or a large-scale construction effort, Rosebud Building Products is committed to building a thriving, self-sustaining community.

RBP Supply:
RBP Supply focuses on serving tribal and federal government entities, as well as contractors, by providing essential materials for infrastructure and development projects. We understand that timely access to reliable building materials is crucial for the success of any project, particularly in the public sector. Our team works closely with our clients to ensure that all necessary materials are delivered efficiently, contributing to the growth and development of local infrastructure and the prosperity of our community and beyond.

Rosebud Rental:
Rosebud Rental offers a wide variety of high-quality equipment and machinery rentals to meet the needs of individuals, businesses, and government programs.
