Our Store

Smith Lumber Company has been serving the Evart area since the 1950's.  Before that the business was Shore Lumber which opened in the early 1900’s.  In the late 1800's our business site was home to a saw mill located along the Muskegon River, part of Evart's historic lumber industry.

We still operate out of the same building from the 50's, adding on and changing the layout to better serve our customers throughout the years.  Our "upstairs" (currently the plumbing & heating department) was originally an unloading dock for materials shipped along a railroad spur that used to run in front the store.

Through LBM Advantage Smith Lumber has access to a wide array of quality products, such as windows, door/cabinet hardware, fasteners, power tools, sheet metal, aluminum trims, drywall, insulation, mouldings, cabinets, and lumber/plywood. LBM Advantage serves 36 states and has 545 members consisting of 1095 locations.
