Valu Crew Volunteers Support White Whiskers Senior Dog Sanctuary

At Valu Home Centers, we’re not just about offering quality products for home improvement—we’re deeply committed to supporting the communities where we live and work. Recently, our dedicated team, the Valu Crew came together to volunteer at a special place that’s close to our hearts: White Whiskers Senior Dog Sanctuary. This nonprofit sanctuary, located in Western New York, provides a safe and loving home for senior dogs who might otherwise be left in shelters or abandoned.

A Day of Painting and Preparation

On a beautiful day in July, our Valu Crew members gathered at White Whiskers, ready to lend a helping hand in preparation for the sanctuary’s upcoming open house on August 10th. The day was filled with energy and excitement as our team worked to transform the sanctuary. We tackled the essential task of painting the sanctuary’s interior, helping to create a warm, inviting space for both the senior dogs and the people who will visit.

Thanks to a collaboration with Valspar Paint, one of the trusted brands we carry at Valu Home Centers, we had all the materials we needed to brighten up the sanctuary. From soft, soothing colors to vibrant accents, we carefully selected the perfect shades to give the space a welcoming and peaceful feel. The sanctuary’s new look will be unveiled at the open house, and we can’t wait for the public to see the transformation.

About White Whiskers: Giving Senior Dogs a Second Chance

White Whiskers Senior Dog Sanctuary is a nonprofit organization with a unique mission: to provide a permanent, loving home for senior dogs who often face challenges in finding adopters due to their age or medical needs. As the founder of White Whiskers has shared, many of these dogs have been abandoned or surrendered by families who can no longer care for them, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have plenty of love left to give.

At White Whiskers, these senior pups are treated like family. They receive top-notch care, companionship, and comfort for the rest of their lives. The sanctuary also aims to raise awareness about the benefits of adopting senior pets, who are often calm, loving, and grateful companions.
