Valu Crew Volunteers & The Buffalo City Mission Thrift Store

On November 12th, 2016 Valu Crew, Valu Home Centers’ community service initiative, volunteered with The Buffalo City Mission Thrift Store in Buffalo, NY to help clear out their shelves and make room for new merchandise.

Members of the Valu Home Centers Team volunteered their time to help remove old merchandise, organize shelves, clear out damaged or broken goods, and create room for the latest round of donated items. This process helps to ensure that donations are being circulated in a timely manner, and keeps the store full of surprises for regular customers!

Valu Crew volunteers take an active role in bettering the communities that we serve, and amaze our customers with their hard work and dedication.

This initiative puts the do-it-yourself knowledge of the Valu Home Centers Team in action through service to our community. Volunteers for this event included team members from our location in Tonawanda, as well as our corporate office in Buffalo.

The Buffalo City Mission has existed for nearly 100 years with one goal: helping those in need in our community.

By shopping at the Buffalo City Mission Thrift Store, you’re not only receiving some of the highest quality gently-used items in the area, but you’re also helping to end homelessness and hunger in WNY. Located at 510 Dick Rd. in the Dick-Urban Plaza in Depew, NY, their Thrift Store exists to help impact the lives of others in our community and is also a locally operated facility; making sure that your donations benefit those in the Buffalo Area. For every $1.98 spent at our store, you are helping us provide a meal to someone struggling from hunger in your neighborhood. That’s right – the money spent on the amazing items in their Thrift Store is given right back to your community.
