Serving the Pulaski Community Since 1993

Yelk’s Hardware Store has been part of the Pulaski community for more than 30 years. Established in 1993, the store has a long history of serving local homeowners, DIYers, farmers, contractors, and businesses.

In 2026, Steve and Beth Yelk became the new owners, excited to continue that tradition while bringing their own experience, energy, and vision to the store.

Steve and Beth have been married for more than 15 years and have called Pulaski home for 13 years. Both bring more than 10 years of retail experience from their time at Shopko, where they worked in store operations, inventory management, and buying.

“Pulaski is home for us,” says Beth. “We love this community and are excited to become even more involved as business owners.”

A Family-Owned Hardware Store with Local Roots

Yelk’s Hardware Store is a family business in every sense of the word. Steve and Beth’s four children each have a connection to the store in their own way:

• AJ, a Marine veteran, works full-time as a mechanic and supports the store with small-engine repair.

• Holly is currently serving in the U.S. Navy and remains a favorite sounding board for new ideas.

• Henry is one of the store’s friendly sales associates and cashiers.

• Lena is already learning the ins and outs of the business—even though she’s still too young to officially work on the clock.

Friendly Help for Your Projects

Steve has always enjoyed tackling projects, figuring out how things work, and solving problems—something he brings to the way the Yelks approach customer service.

“We want people to feel comfortable coming in with a question or a project and know that we’ll do our best to help them find a solution.”
