Known for its product quality and tremendous service, Brownsboro Hardware & Paint opened in the fall of 1960 at 4858 Brownsboro Road in Louisville, Kentucky.

The current owner, Doug Carroll, started at Brownsboro Hardware & Paint more than 25 years ago, working part time to buy a car. He fell in love with the store and its customers and bought both locations in 2021.

Both the Louisville location and the Prospect store (9521 U.S. 42) place a strong emphasis on  local ownership and a exceptional focus on customer service.

In addition, Carroll believes in investing in the commnity that invests in us. That is why he hosts the annual EggFEST Food Festival to raise money for two local food charities - A Recipe to End Hunger and Kentucky Harvest. Thanks to EggFEST,  nearly $400,000 has been shared with local food charities.

In addition, Brownsboro Hardware & Paint is a major sponsor of the annual "Wreaths Across America" campaign to cover all 11,000+ graves at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery for the holidays. The stores also raise funds for such charities as APRON Inc., The American Lung Associaiton, Blessings in a Backpack, and others.

This includes our employees in our U.S. Post Office located right in the Hardware Store on Brownsboro Road. Annual Big Green EggFEST Food Festival

Started in 2008, our annual Big Green EggFEST Food Festival has raised nearly  $400,000  for different charities and has grown into a well known event in Louisville.

We also have been involved in a variety of charitable and civic causes, including Wreaths Across America, APRON Inc, Blessings in a Backpack, the American Lung Association and others. We strongly believe in giving back to the community. 

Brownsboro Hardware & Paint is also dedicated to keeping Louisville local. In order to show our support of local organizations we are a proud member of the Louisville Independent Business Alliance and the Prospect Area Chamber of Commerce. We also are a proud member of the Better Business Bureau, and an accredited member for nearly 20 years.
