Obermeier Hardware is a complete hardware, building material, and equipment rental business located in Rockport Indiana-just a few miles outside Owensboro Kentucky. We specialize in outdoor power equipment especially STIHL chainsaws, grass trimmers, and construction equipment. With complete home repair departments in Plumbing, Electrical, Cleaning Supplies, Paint & Paint Supplies, Lawn & Garden, Tools, Home Hardware we are able to take care of many many home projects. We also specialize in equipment rental. We rent lawn equipment, we rent construction equipment, we rent cleaning equipment and power tools. History
Obermeier Hardware started out as a Western Auto store in 1959 that mainly sold auto parts and appliances. In 1974 the business was moved from Main Street to its current location for expansion. In 1976 Obermeier joined a hardware co-op to meet the needs of the community. From 1974 to current the business has gone through two expansions and multiple remodels. Our last remodel incorporated our green initiative in which we installed geothermal heating and cooling units, energy efficient foam insulating roofing, and new energy efficient lighting throughout. In 1996 the auto repair division was closed and a full division of rental was incorporated into the business. In 2004 we signed on to be a full sales and service STIHL dealership. In 2005 Obermeier joined Do-It Best Corp based in Fort Wayne. Our business has gone through many expansions, most recently we have added a full line lumber and building materials division to handle small projects all the way up to multi-family/commercial projects. We are constantly looking for ways to serve our community! We are conveniently located in Rockport Indiana which is just across the river from Owensboro, Ky.
