Elmira Valu Home Center Presents $6,150 Donation To Habitat for Humanity of Chemung County

On August 24th, our store team in Elmira, NY presented a donation of $6,150 to Habitat for Humanity of Chemung County!

The donation was raised during our annual 6-week fundraising campaign from Elmira area customers. All funds collected during this campaign are donated to the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate, so you always give where you live. We proudly cover all administrative fees for the campaign, so that 100% of the money raised helps Habitat for Humanity provide safe, decent housing for families in need. In many communities, including Chemung County, our store teams develop tight-knit relationships with their local Habitat for Humanity staff. You may remember that earlier this year our location in Elmira, NY was awarded as 2016 Community Partner by Chemung County Habitat for Humanity.

A special award was presented to Becca Whitman, who sold the largest number of raffle tickets out of the entire Valu Home Centers team! Our Elmira, NY location sold the most raffle tickets overall.

Sara Liu, Executive Director of Chemung County Habitat for Humanity, presented Becca with a prize and provided the store with cupcakes and balloons. We are so grateful to our customers in Chemung County - and beyond - who generously donated in support of Habitat for Humanity, as well as our dedicated cashiers who asked each customer if they would like to get involved.
