Valu Crew & Habitat for Humanity of Genesee County

On August 16th, Valu Crew volunteers from our Medina, Batavia, and North Tonawanda stores joined Habitat for Humanity of Genesee County to help work on a home for a local family in need.

Our volunteers were thrilled to be joined by regular volunteers from Habitat for Humanity of Genesee County, as well as the future homeowners who were putting in their sweat equity hours. Valu Crew helped with a wide range or projects, including putting up siding, attaching doorknobs, replacing old plumbing in the yard, and more! We were so proud to give a hand up - not a hand out - to our neighbors.

Valu Home Centers has been a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity for 25 years.

We are excited to celebrate the long-standing relationship between Valu Home Centers and Habitat for Humanity with our 2017 Celebration Through Service! Thanks to the generosity of our customers, the dedication of our cashiers, and the advocacy of our media partners, Valu Home Centers has raised and donated over $3.6 million in the last 25 years. We support 15 different Habitat for Humanity affiliates, so that our donors know they are giving where the live. When you donate to our annual Habitat for Humanity fundraiser, Valu Home Centers covers the administrative costs so that 100% of the funds raised go directly toward decent, affordable housing for all.
