George Stephen Has an Idea

While a guy named George was making marine buoys at his job working for Weber Brothers Metal Works, he came up with the idea of a dome-shaped grill.

It was 1952, and at the time the idea of a covered grill was pretty revolutionary! That first grill was called "George's Barbecue Kettle." Seven years later, George bought Weber Brothers and a new era of barbecuing was born.

From Innovation Leader to an American Fixture

Weber grills continued to innovate, using stainless steel construction, making Flavorizer® bars, and creating porcelain-enameled cooking grates. The first Genesis® grill was unveiled in 1985, followed by the Summit® series in the mid-1990s, and the portable Q® series in 2003. Over the years, Weber grills have become not just tools for cooking food, but grills that bring people together.

The Weber Genesis II series is built to gather family, friends, even the whole neighborhood, together. These grills are the newest addition to the Weber line, and we believe they're superior to every other grill in its class.

Original Kettle Charcoal Grills

Weber’s roots go back to George Stephen’s original, kettle-shaped design, so they’ve kept the Original Kettle series going strong as a modern version of the grill that started it all back in 1952.

Coming in 18”, 22”, and 26” sizes, Original Kettle charcoal grills are affordable, durable options for the charcoal-grilling lover. Thanks to an aluminum ash catcher, rust-resistant damper, plated steel cooking grates, a porcelain-enameled bowl and lid, and one-touch cleaning system, Original Kettle grills are built to both out-perform and outlast other traditional models.

Master-Touch Series

In addition to the Original Kettle Premium features, the Weber Master-Touch offers a Gourmet BBQ System™ hinged cooking grate, a Tuck-Away™ lid holder, and a warming rack.

Performer Charcoal Grills

In addition to the Original Kettle series, the Weber Performer charcoal grills offer the added convenience of a heavy-duty steel-frame cart, a work table for food prep, and a bottom wire rack. They are available in basic, Premium, and Deluxe trims.

The Premium and Deluxe add a removable backlit LCD cook timer, and a weather-protected CharBin storage container. Additionally, the Deluxe features an electronic Touch-N-Go gas ignition system.

In 14”, 18”, and 22” sizes, these smokers offer a built-in lid thermometer, plated steel cooking grates, rust resistant metal legs, porcelain-enameled water pan, and a heavy-gauge charcoal grate.
