The fundamentals of hardware stores are pretty old-school: hammers and hex screws and garden plants. It is a source of literally decades of knowledge and experience, and the “wares” include some of the most artfully and practically engineered items in today’s existence. There is quite a legacy sitting on our shelves at Jarratt Hardware, merely 50 years! Joe Franquinha’s revival of the general store is about the basics: “You need nuts and bolts to fix things. Without that, those things fall apart. And those operations are boiled down to their purest form. It’s this metal that connects, that serves one specific purpose: keeps it together.”

“Keeping it together”. That’s the mantra for the main streets of America - and that is the mantra of Jarratt Hardware. We are about keeping our community together; keeping our neighbors here; keeping our youth active and engaged. From sponsoring a youth baseball league team, to offering learning opportunities for our youth through community partnerships, to hosting semi annual customer appreciation events at our store, Jarratt Hardware will always give back to our community and work to provide for its neighbors, when able. There is nothing more important to us than the happiness of our neighbors, the success of our main street, and the love within our community.
